I bought a Canon Rebel XT and for almost a year. I want to learn to use it to its full capacity. I want to take nice pictures a professional look. I bought a few books to get to me, but to be honest, are as different as the camera, confused. Any notice or references to this rookie?

I would say get a manual camera and take care of all buttons and knobs, etc.. is the best way to learn what the camera can do.
